The AnthroTech Assessment provides an overview of the technology culture at the school where I am assigned as a student teacher. The assessment addresses both the formal technology policies currently in place as well as the actual practices occurring in the school on a routine basis. This is assessed by evaluating the school's technology capacity and capabilities as well as the support and promotion of technology by school leadership - a useful litmus test for gaining insight into how integral technology is for both students and teachers.
Nurturing students to become competent digital citizens is becoming increasingly important as technology progresses in all educational and professional fields, and possessing a working understanding of the resources available is an equally integral part of being an effective teacher. |
